Each choice builds the health you will experience in the future.

How to Avoid Early Death by Heart Attack

Look at the above pie graph carefully. The major CAUSES of coronary heart disease, the major killer of people in our modern societies are almost all created by our “modern” lifestyle. Prior to 1900 there is almost no record of heart disease. When George V Mann studied the Massai in Africa in the 1950’s he could find no sign of heart disease. So what is it about modern life that causes us to die of heart disease? There have been many theories presented over the last 70 years, apparently all of them wrong.

We look for medical reasons for CVD, and we produce theories, that are FALSE and cause us to develop hospitals and clinics and medicines to CURE a DISEASE, that is created by ourselves, in our families and workplaces. There is no medical cure for a bad diet. If you have a bad diet, you can’t exercise effectively. With a bad diet and insufficient exercise you probably can’t sleep well either. Look about you. Poor health often runs in families, and we say it’s genetic and it can’t be avoided. Lifestyle habits are also created in families. If you give you small child sweet treats, if you give them sugar sweetened cereals for breakfast, and toast and jam, you are creating a diabetic adult with a shortened lifespan. Healthy lifespan can be increased.

That’s our task. You can add at least 14 years of good health to your life if you begin to apply this knowledge in your 40’s. Sadly few will do that, they will pretend to be healthy, until they get really sick. And then they say, “It’s too late to make changes to my life now.” It’s a choice that you make, and remake every day of your life.

It’s normal in our society to blame the individual for his/her poor health, but if the long run future is for almost EVERYONE to develop metabolic syndrome, leading on to obesity and type two diabetes and early death, then the problem lies in our society, not in the individual. You are NOT to blame.

However, in the short run, we can’t rescue society, but we can do a lot to rescue you. Put the past behind you. An Open Future is possible, and it’s built by making small decisions every day, to change your lifestyle.
